Enrollment
Liability
Ballet Fantastique assumes no responsibility for personal
injury. We firmly believe, however, that our Syllabus
and training program dramatically reduces the occurrences
of injury for dancers. We are very proud to have never
had a dancer injury since we first opened our doors
eight years ago!
Tuition & Fees
- No student will be admitted to class until the
first month's tuition or a Placement Class Fee has
been paid.
- A non-refundable annual Registration Fee ($20 for
one student/$15 per child for families enrolling more
than one student) is due at the time of enrollment
during the months of September-June.
- Except by prior arrangement, tuition is due by
first lesson of the month. After the 10th of the month,
a $10 late fee will be applied toward your account.
- Tuition and fees are non-refundable.
- The fee for returned checks is $30.
- Where possible, make-up classes will be scheduled
for classes missed with prior instructor approval.
There are no discounts allowed for absences.
- Due to holiday schedules, the number of classes
per month may vary. Tuition has been added up over
the year and averaged at the same amount over every
month, regardless of possible holidays.
Performance & Costume Fees
Academy dancers may audition for Apprentice positions
in Ballet Fantastique's professional and pre-professional
Chamber
Performance Ensemble. A one-time tutu/costume use
and performance fee is payable over the course of the
year for Apprentice dancers.
Studio Guidelines
Attendance
Regular attendance is crucial to the dance student's
training and is absolutely required for performance
participation. Scholarship students may have a maximum
of two absences per month (see the Ballet Fantastique
Scholarship Commitment Form). Commitments that interfere
with classes should be avoided.
Lateness
For student safety, students may not be permitted into
class once class has begun. Latecomers are permitted
to watch at the instructor's discretion.
Absences
Where possible, make-up classes will be scheduled for
classes missed with prior instructor approval. No discounts
or refunds are given for absences. The Ballet Fantastique
class instructor should be notified of all absences
for Professional Division students, and note from a
parent or doctor should be provided in the case of illness,
injury or emergency.
Placement/Promotion
To ensure placement at the proper level, Ballet Fantastique
evaluates the progress of each student in January and
June. Unlike academic schooling, dancers often stay
in the same level for more than one year to properly
strengthen the muscles and understand technical concepts.
Class Attire
Students must be in the proper attire to participate
in class.
Children's
Division Attire Guidelines
Professional
Division Dress Code
Classroom Etiquette
Students must be quiet, attentive and respectful. They
may not sit, hang or lean on barres or mirrors. They
are expected to have the discipline to stay in class
for the allotted time period.
Parent Observation
To support student learning, parents are not permitted
to watch regular classes. Parent Observation Days are
scheduled during regular classes once per month.
Please see the Ballet
Fantastique Academy Calendar for this year's Parent
Observation Days, performances, holidays, and special
events. Ballet Fantastique reserves the right to make
changes to the calendar as necessary.
