Ballet Fantastique

Italy Performance Project

“When I dance, I feel big.”
“When I dance, I feel important.”
“When I dance, I know that I’m working hard to do something that not a lot of other people can do.”
“When I dance, I wish it would last all day.”
“When I dance, I get hungry because I feel my muscles growing!”
-Quotes from students at a Ballet Fantastique in-school residency at Moffitt Elementary School

Individual Support

It takes more than great dancers to make a great dance company, and more than big dreams to make a great dancer. It takes the dedication and support of people like you.

Ballet Fantastique plays a unique, active, and vital role for young artists and audiences in our city. With your support, Ballet Fantastique, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, reinvests every dollar given to us back into the cultural landscape, fabric, and future of our community: dancer scholarships for talented young artists in need (no talented child is ever turned away for lack of funds), dancer sponsorships for hardworking professional dancers, free community concerts, “creme-de-la-creme” Hult concerts, collaborations, and premieres with affordable ticket prices (Eugene Weekly 05), and in-school outreach residencies at schools that serve low-income kids. Each of our programs, be it in the Silva Concert Hall or in a Eugene-Springfield school gymnasium, is characterized by Ballet Fantastique’s reputation for innovation and excellence. Without your help, much of what we do on behalf of these young artists and audiences would be impossible: After all, it takes more than great dancers to make a great dance company, and more than big dreams to make a great dancer. It takes the dedication and support of people like you.

The brilliance of the ballet is your gift; it is also your charge. To have Ballet Fantastique’s academy, chamber company, and multi-fold outreach programs in our city takes the commitment of many people and a caring community with the passion and dedication to support it. Directed by mother-daughter team Donna and Hannah Bontrager and bolstered with a network of our hard-working dancers, volunteers, interns, and board of directors, Ballet Fantastique’s vision is to create arts experiences that are inspiring, innovative, and—through our commitment to bring dance to all sectors of our community—also accessible. It takes fundraising efforts as ambitious as our dancers to support this commitment to young artists and audiences in our city. The gist: It takes you.

This is an investment in a cause you care about: Continuing to ensure that beautiful, high caliber dance thrives for young people in our city. Please play your part—and know that Ballet Fantastique is profoundly grateful for your support.
