“A bold, cross-disciplinary ballet company. . . filled with virtuosos. . . insanely talented. ” —Eugene Weekly
Join Ballet Fantastique for a delicious venture into Jane Austen's classic romance from choreographer-producers Donna Marisa and Hannah Bontrager. Ballet Fantastique's new Pride & Prejudice: A Parisian Jazz Ballet brings Austen's spirited women, nosy neighbors, embarrassing relatives, determined bachelors, and smarmy cads to life—all in a 1920's Paris filled with joie de vivre.
Sparks fly when the fiery Elizabeth "Bennette" (now French) and her four sisters meet the single, rich, and dashing British aristocrats Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley at the Bennette family's jazz cabaret in a smoky back alley of Montmartre. There, at "Le Moulin Bleu," be prepared for a playful battle between pride and passion in what Ballet Fantastique does best: all-original choreography, live music, and a daring twist on a classic story. Don't miss Ballet Fantastique's Pride & Prejudice: A Parisian Jazz Ballet, with Gerry Rempel and the Jazz Cats playing iconic French jazz and new works (the Gerry Rempel Jazz Syndicate).
