| Unique opportunities for aspiring professional dancers |
Overview
Giving area dancers local, professionally modeled training
and performance programs and outlets for their talent
is imperative to keeping the arts vibrantly alive in
our community. As part of our non-profit mission, Ballet
Fantastique offers Professional Master Classes three
times weekly on a sliding fee scale.
Professional-level community dancers participate
in both our Master Classes and our Performance Ensemble,
which gives them the opportunity to work with various
guest artists and the artistic directors of Ballet Fantastique,
to choreograph and produce their own work, and to build
their professional resumes through a wide range of performance
opportunities.
Master Classes
Master Classes are taught by Ballet Fantastique's Artistic
Director Donna
Marisa Bontrager or by visiting guest artists, and
meet three times weekly. Click here for a printable
Ballet
Fantastique Schedule of Classes. Summer Choreography Workshops are also offered in preparation for the
Chamber Company’s touring season.
Community dancers must audition for Master Class placement.
Company
Dancer Audition Form. The Company
Dancer Application Supplement makes it possible
for dancers to pay for classes on a sliding fee scale
according to their financial resources.
Professional Chamber Performance
Ensemble
Community dancers and Academy participants complete
an extensive auditioning process for one of six Company-dancer
places in our Chamber Performance Ensemble. Though our
repertoire is primarily classical and comes out of the
Academy's basis in the Kirov (Vaganova) training syllabus,
Ensemble dancers have the opportunity to perform in
and choreograph original works, working closely with
other dancers, guest artists and coaches, and the Artistic
Director of Ballet Fantastique, Donna Marisa Bontrager.
