October 2005-March 2006
Ballet Fantastique's Experience Dance! Project is an ambitious series of interactive elementary school demonstrations paired with a concert of the highest caliber produced in Oregon's Hult Center for the Performing Arts. This dynamic, engaging project inspires audience members of a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and means while providing local dancers with the opportunity to give back to the community through exhilerating, informative presentations.

The Experience Dance! Project is incredibly unique in that it brings both the professional dancer and the young student dancer to audiences. In this way, our community-centered performances bridge the gap of the artistic process, educating young and old alike in the long and rewarding process of becoming an artist, and subsequently making dance a more accessible art form.

Ballet Fantastique's Experience Dance! Project sets out to inspire, and inspire it does! The Hult Center concert features an innovative collaboration with Roseburg's Traduza Dance Company, presenting both modern dance and classical ballet through a shared exploration of Latin/Spanish themes and a shared conviction in the power of outstanding dance performance. With its energetic approach and wide appeal, this performance will be sure to attract new audiences for the arts, while engaging existing arts-appreciators.

The school performances bring Ballet Fantastique dancers right to between 1,200-6,400 kids at six-eight Eugene/Springfield elementary and middle schools, fostering an appreciation of dance in young people of all ages, backgrounds, and means-at no costs to the schools themselves. We're giving dancers the performance-related skills that enhance their training, encourage their artistic expression, and prepare them for careers in an increasingly competitive dance world-all while building a new generation of dedicated arts-appreciators, appealing to the non-traditional theater-goer, and asserting the vitality of classical ballet as a vibrant cultural art form that is very much alive.

We invite you to Invest in the Arts! Partner with us in this exciting, tangible effort to ensure that everyone in our community has the opportunity to experience the power of beautiful, innovative, world-class dance. Support Options & Coordinator Contact Information
