Meet Della

Della was born in Springfield, Oregon and has trained at Ballet Fantastique since she was age four under the instruction of Donna Marisa and Hannah Bontrager, along with other members of Ballet Fantastique's professional faculty. Throughout her years of training, Della completed level tests I-V of the Vaganova syllabus; she is currently studying studying levels VI-VIII. Della has performed with Ballet Fantastique since she was nine in her first role as Mrs Tiggywinkle in Tales of Beatrix Potter. Since then, she has performed in Ballet Fantastique concerts such as: Arabian Nights (2012); Zorro: The Ballet (with the LA-based band Incendio, premiere 2013 + 2018 performances—soloist role of White Owl, 2018); An American Christmas Carol (with Halie Loren, premiere 2014 + 2017 performances); The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (with Gerry Rempel Ensemble + Dreos, premiere 2017); Aladdin: A Rock Opera Ballet (with Satin Love Orchestra, premiere 2017); The Book of Esther: A Rock Gospel Ballet (with Andiel Brown and the UO Gospel Singers, premiere 2014 + 2016 performances); as Georgiana Darcy in Pride & Prejudice: A Parisian Jazz Ballet (with Gerry Rempel Jazz Ensemble—soloist role of Caroline Bingley, 2016); Scarlet Flower: Beauty & The Beast Retold (with Trio Voronezh, premiere 2016); Dragon & the Night Queen (with Gerry Rempel Ensemble, premiere 2016); Cirque de la Lune (with Betty & the Boy, Troupe Carnivale, and Mood Area 52, 2015 performances); Cinderella: A Rock Opera Ballet (with Shelley & Cal and the Agents of Unity, 2015 performances); The Odyssey (with live looping electric violinist Cullen Vance, premiere 2015); Tales from the Floating World (with Portland Taiko and international koto player Mitsuki Dazai, premiere 2014), and many others. In summer 2015, Della was honored to be the only student in her age group from the Northwest invited to attend the prestigious San Francisco City Ballet Vaganova program. Recently, Della has moved to online school at Oregon Connections Academy in order to have a schedule that will allow her to explore her passion more intensely and to work on her technique and performance full-time with the Company.
