"American Christmas Carol: A Ballet Movie" is a captivating interpretation of the timeless Charles Dickens classic, reimagined in the post-World War II era of America. This genre-defying collaboration between cinematographer Jeremy Bronson and the visionary Choreographer-Producer team of Donna and Hannah Bontrager brings together the artistry of ballet and the magic of cinema to deliver a truly unique experience on the big screen.
“I am thrilled and grateful for this award. ‘An American Christmas Carol: A Ballet Movie’ has been a labor of love for me. It was an incredible opportunity to collaborate with Ballet Fantastique and capture the beauty and emotion of this reimagined classic. I am proud of our collective effort and the result we achieved.”
Filmed amidst the stunning landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, this visually striking movie showcases iconic locations including the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House Museum (Eugene, OR) and the turn-of-the-century Oregon Electric Station (Eugene, OR). These locations served as Ballet Fantastique’s ‘movie sets’ to bring pieces originally choreographed for the stage to the screen.
